Joshua Ryan " Josh " Hutcherson (born October 12, 1992) is an American actor. A native of Kentucky , Hutcherson began his acting career in the early 2000s and appeared in several commercials and minor film and television roles before landing his first major role in 2002 in the pilot episode of House Blend . His first film role was in Miracle Dogs (2003) on Animal Planet , followed by a motion-capture performance in The Polar Express (2004) and a voice-acting role in Howl's Moving Castle (2005).
The 24-year-old Hunger Games actor was there to support Airbnb’s new service, Trips, as well as to promote Straight But Not Narrow, an organization he co-founded to help young heterosexual adults learn how to become allies of their LGBTQ peers.
Josh can currently be seen in the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games, where he portrays the role of the beloved Peeta Mellark. The Hunger Games is the first film in the popular trilogy based on the novels by Suzanne Collins and will be followed by Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks.
The movie is heavy, to say the least — it deals with California farm workers striking against low wages and miserable work conditions — and in starring stalwarts like Robert Duvall and Ed Harris , you know it's going to be intense!
